Meetings and Events

The date of our next meeting for members and supporters is Tuesday 24th September at 7.30pm at United Church, 49-51 Charles Street, Dorchester, DT1 1EE.

Please get in touch if you want to arrange sharing a lift with people local to you.

We also have more informal, local meetings in Bridport and Weymouth. Please get in touch to find out the dates and venues for these.

Join the Green Party

As a member, you can be as active as you like - from armchair and online support to standing as a candidate for election.

We meet once a month, 7.30pm, in Dorchester. All members and supporters are welcome. Much of the meeting is about organising our work, but we always try to devote about half the time to discussing some policy issue of current interest.

STUDENTS: Join the Green Party for just £5 a year!

Even if you don't want to make the commitment of joining us, we always welcome supporters and volunteers. Volunteers can help with our campaigning work. Could you help deliver our newsletters to your street, or go out with our campaign team and speak to local residents about their concerns?

We are particularly keen to find more volunteers with fundraising experience or press, research and administrative skills. Whatever your level of experience and however much or little time you can give, we would love to hear from you.

Help deliver newsletters and leaflets:

Contact Kelvin Clayton on 01308 426318 or at   for more information or for other ways in which you can get involved.

If you don't have much spare time at the moment, but would still like to help, why not make a donation? Your donation will help us stand candidates and win elections.

More details on our Donate page on how to donate by cheque, standing order or by Paypal.

Stand for Council

The West and South Dorset Green Party has sought to represent our communities by election to local councils (see the Elections page) with great success. We now have enthusiastic, committed and hard-working Green Party councillors on the local Town, Borough and County councils and we aim to increase Green representation wherever possible.

We need like-minded people to stand for election at every opportunity and to join our existing councillors in promoting our policies that work for the common good. We'd particularly welcome, encourage and support those that would consider standing. the next scheduled elections in our area are in 2019 for the new Unitary Authority. In order to be eligible you must be a paid-up member of the Green Party and support its main aims and policies. We are particularly keen to ensure diversity amongst our candidates and would particularly welcome people from Purbeck and Swanage.
