Chit Chong qualified as an engineer and started work for both large and small manufacturing businesses. Since then he has worked as an environmentalist for over 12 years and is an expert on low energy retrofit of buildings. He has a draught-proofing and insulation business in Dorset and also works as an environmental consultant.
Since moving to Dorset three years ago, he has been involved in the local community and is a member of the steering group for Charmouth Scouts and a director of Transition Town Bridport. He leads the Draught Buster Workshops for Transition Town which helps residents make their homes more energy efficient and save money.
He has been active in the Green Party for 25 years and was the first Green Councillor to be elected in London. He believes in social and environmental justice for people today and tomorrow. He is a member for the Alliance for Future Generations which aims to develop methods by which the interests of future generations can be represented in government today.
If elected, he will work to represent his constituents and use his experience to promote green industries in Dorset to redress the wilful decimation of Britain's industrial base by Labour and Tory governments alike. He will also work to improve energy efficiency of housing to save people money and create local jobs.
